Skills curriculum: SMS is distinguished for adopting additional teaching subjectssuch as social skills and creative thinking skills. Emotional Skills: Firstly:  Professor Dr. Huda al-Subai'e - the school consultant of the social skills- says: '' actually the emotional health could be a clear image of the school‘s performance. Success in performing a certain job according to modern studies is mostly related to the emotional intellegence. The study adds that 80% of peoples’ success is mostly achieved through spiritual cleverness rather than mental abilities.” The school teaches this subject through the social skills series of Dr. Huda Al Subai’e which contains several social skills such as: punctuality strategies, think before you act, listening skill, following instructions, improving self-confidence, accepting results, using self-control, identifying goals, dealing with anger, accepting alteration, empathy, dealing with mates' troubles and putting an end to rumors. Thinking Skills aim at the development of the students' thinking skills by enabling them to use the critical thinking skills and problem solving and decision –taking skills. The subject focuses on classification, similarity, induction, deduction, following directions, prediction, miming, sequence, tracing, cause and result, critical thinking, optical thinking, organizing ideas into paragraphs and time and place sequence . . |
